Pointers for a Contrast Essay

Pointers for a Contrast EssayWhen writing a contrast essay, the topics for a contrast are no longer what they used to be. Because more students are being taught English composition, they will soon be confronted with new and different topics for a contrast essay. In this article, we will look at some of the more interesting topics for a contrast essay. One of the topics for a contrast essay is to examine what the two countries have in common. A good example would be the Olympics or, more specifically, the differences between the Olympic Games of each country. For example, one country has the 'Triple Crown,' a double gold medal event; another country has a triple jumper jumping the pole vault; another country has a long jumper who was once the first African-American winner of the long jump. No, one would expect that a country that was once known as a colony by the British Empire would still be making these kinds of successful achievements. It is interesting that even if there are many c ommon interests between the two countries, a comparison between the subjects is still important.Next, we have to consider the differences between these two countries. The biggest difference would probably be the level of education. While the United States of America seems to enjoy a high standard of education, the other country would probably not be satisfied with that same level of education. Yet, the countries still have the same goals, goals that go beyond the educational field. One could also compare the differences in the values of the two countries. The level of education and the values are obviously huge differences, but with cultural differences, the differences could be quite different. The level of culture and history could play a big role in determining the level of education and the value of the students and their heritage.Another area to compare the two countries is their stance towards technology. The US has always pushed to have high-tech, technology-based companies ar ound the world and, to be quite honest, most of the American economy is based on it. The other country probably also values technological progress as much as the United States does. One of the topics for a contrast essay would probably be what impact the current economic crisis has had on the two countries. Many blame the Asian countries for all the problems that the United States of America was experiencing in the recent past. That, however, seems like a bit of an overstatement as the Asian countries are doing quite well, themselves. The recent rise of the Internet is probably one of the least discussed, but perhaps most important change that has been made to the two countries, in terms of the level of literacy and information available in the world. Just because a higher level of education is not required in a particular country doesn't mean that there is less information available in that country. This might seem like a controversial statement, but it's true: The Internet has liter ally changed the lives of many people around the world. As a result, many businesses are using the World Wide Web as a way to interact with potential customers, advertise, and expand their business through web pages and interactive web sites. As a result, some students might want to write a contrast essay about the impact that the Internet has had on the lifestyles of the two countries. How important are these two topics for a contrast essay?
